Nerd Street Welcomes Pro Bowl Wide Receiver and Gaming Personality JuJu Smith-Schuster to their Team as a Brand Ambassador

PHILADELPHIA, September 10, 2021– Nerd Street Gamers, the national esports infrastructure company, announced the signing of Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster as a Brand Ambassador for both Nerd Street and Localhost gaming and esports centers. Smith-Schuster’s passion for gaming and focus on bringing opportunities in esports to everyone regardless of socioeconomic status solidified him as the ideal advocate for the organization.

The partnership will focus on creating unique competitive programming as well as designing educational opportunities in the gaming community. Later this year, Nerd Street and Smith-Schuster will build custom tournaments that include amateur qualifiers alongside professionals in both traditional sports and esports.

In addition to the tournaments, Smith-Schuster will co-run enriching esports camps with Nerd Street at Localhost gaming and esports centers. Localhost provides gamers of all skill levels the opportunity to compete, learn, and build community in a safe, positive environment. Team JuJu Esports Camps, launching in 2022, will build an educational foundation for campers to understand the multiple facets of gaming and esports. Tactics and skill development are the core of the program, but the camps will also provide a complete picture of esports.

“As people may know, I am so passionate about gaming as an avenue for people to grow, connect, compete, and have fun,” said JuJu Smith-Schuster. “What you may not know is that growing up I didn’t have the same access to connect with other people in the gaming space like I do now. Accessing wifi to connect and play with my friends was not readily available in my own house. Thanks to my grandma, I was able to walk one mile to her home to experience that aspect of gaming. With all of the opportunities in the gaming space for people coming up, I am super excited to partner with Nerd Street Gamers on bringing esports and gaming access to everyone all across America. Together we’re going to provide accessible gaming camps, and create great platforms for people to compete - no matter where they’re from or what their previous experience in the esports world has been.”

As a gamer and streamer, Smith-Schuster is fully immersed in the esports community. In 2020, he launched his own gaming organization, Team Diverge. This organization brings gamers of all backgrounds into one community, to connect, create, and build together. The three entities will work together to provide opportunities, entertainment, and unique experiences to gamers everywhere.
