RLCS Fall Major 2022: All qualified teams

The Rocket League Championship Series 2022-23 season kicked off this fall with regional events around the world. Teams in six regions -- Europe, North America, South America, Oceania, Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and Asia Pacific (APAC) -- competed in three regional events to earn points toward qualifying for the RLCS Fall Major, which takes place in Rotterdam, Netherlands, from Dec. 8 to 11. Five teams from both Europe and North America, two teams from both South America and Oceania and one team from both MENA and APAC make up the field of 16 teams. To get you ready for the first major of the new RLCS season, here’s a primer on each of the qualified teams.

Karmine Corp

Europe

After being one of the best emerging teams in EU last season, Karmine Corp added Axel "vatira" Touret from Moist Esports and Brice "ExoTiiK" Bigeard from SMPR in the offseason and climbed to the top of the EU rankings this fall. Karmine Corp won one regional and finished second in the other two. Vatira, ExoTiiK and Amine "itachi" Benayachi enter the Fall Major as one of the favorites to win it.

Team Liquid

Europe

Team Liquid closed out Europe’s fall split with a win in the third EU regional. It was the organization’s first regional win in Rocket League since entering the scene in 2020. The team didn’t make any offseason roster changes as Bruno Alexandre "AcroniK" dos Santos Lopes, Oskar "Oski" Gozdowski and Tristan "Atow" Soyez remain on the roster this fall.

Oxygen Esports

Europe

Oxygen Esports made a statement this fall in winning the first EU regional with their brand new roster. Former SMPR and Endpoint player Archie "archie" Pickthall, former Dignitas player Joris "Joreuz" Robben and former Solary player Ole "oaly" van Doorn led Oxygen to third in the EU rankings this fall with a quarterfinal appearance at another regional in addition to their regional win.

Quadrant

Europe

Formula One driver Lando Norris’ esports team entered Rocket League this fall and has qualified for its first RLCS Major. Lucas "RelatingWave" Rose, who spent the past two years with Endpoint, highlights the all-English roster. Kurtis "Kash" Cannon and Dylan "eekso" Pickering round out the squad. Quadrant were finalists in one fall regional and semifinalists in another one.

Moist Esports

Europe

Moist Esports were one of the top Rocket League teams in the world last season as the winners of the Spring Major. However, they just squeaked into the Fall Major as the fifth-place team in the EU rankings this fall. Moist are the only one of the five EU teams at the Fall Major that didn’t reach a regional final, but they were semifinalists in two regionals. The big change for this team in the offseason was former Karmine Corp player Maëllo "AztraL" Ernst joining Joe "Joyo" Young and Finlay "rise" Ferguson, while Axel "vatira" Touret went to Karmine Corp.

Gen.G

North America

Gen.G are the team that has made the biggest splash in NA this fall. Gen.G might be new to Rocket League, but they entered NA RLCS with an experienced roster consisting of two notable English players -- Jack "ApparentlyJack" Benton and Joseph "noly" Kidd -- as well as American Nick "Chronic" Iwanski and Canadian Braxton "Allushin" Lagarec as coach. The cross-Atlantic roster reached the final of all three regional events this fall, winning one and finishing second in the other two. They have separated themselves as NA’s best this fall.

FaZe Clan

North America

Jason "Firstkiller" Corral and Caden "Sypical" Pellegrin remained with FaZe Clan for the start of this season, and the team added former OpTic player Nick "mist" Costello to replace Austin "AYYJAYY" Aebi. After a top four finish at the RLCS World Championship, this team picked up right where the 2021-22 squad left off, winning the first fall regional and finishing second in the third one.

Version1

North America

Version1 didn’t make any changes in the offseason as they are running it back for the fall with the same roster that finished 5th-8th at the RLCS 2022 World Championship. Kyle "torment" Storer, Robert "comm" Kyser, Landon "BeastMode" Konerman and coach Jayson "Fireburner" Nunez were the third-best team in North America in the fall. V1 won the second regional event of the split.

Spacestation Gaming

North America

After a trip to the RLCS World Championship, Spacestation replaced team veteran Slater "Retals" Thomas with former Oxygen Esports player Logan "Lj" Wilt to join Tshaka "Arsenal" Lateef Taylor Jr. and Daniel "Daniel" Piecenski on the roster. Spacestation were consistent throughout the fall as they finished in the top four at each regional event but couldn’t quite break through to the finals. They lost twice to Gen.G in the semifinals and once to FaZe in the semis.

G2 Esports

North America

G2 didn’t make any changes in the offseason after finishing second at the RLCS World Championship. Jacob "JKnaps" Knapman, Reed "Chicago" Wilen, Massimo "Atomic" Franceschi and coach Matthew "Satthew" Ackermann are all back for G2 this season. The team slid into the Fall Major as the fifth-ranked NA team this split. G2 reached the semis of two regionals and missed out on the playoffs in one regional.

Kansas City Pioneers

Oceania

The Kansas City Pioneers were finalists at all three of Oceania’s regional events, winning the first and finishing second in the next two. Ethan "Scrub" Klumpp, Lachlan "Superlachie" Gordon and Jon "bananahead" Anastasakis remained with the team this season and will be looking to take the Pioneers to new heights after being one of the top Oceanic teams last season.

PWR

Oceania

After just missing out on the RLCS 2022 World Championship, PWR established themselves as one of the best Oceanic Rocket League teams this fall. PWR won the last two Oceania regionals without dropping any matches as they closed out the fall split on a 12-match winning streak. Former Renegades player Lachlan "Fever" Aitchison joined Luke "Amphis" Riddell and Daniel "Torsos" Parsons on this roster.

The Club

South America

The Club were the class of South America this fall as they won all three regional events while losing only two matches the entire split. Bernardo "Bemmz" Siqueira Marta joined Gabriel "Lostt" Buzon and Luiz Fellipe "AztromicK" Lopes Gomes on The Club this fall.

Team Secret

South America

It took a tiebreaker to determine the second team that would represent South America at the Fall Major. Team Secret beat KRÜ Esports 4-1 to claim SAM’s second seed. Both teams finished second in a regional event and were semifinalists in the other two. Former The Club player Danilo "kv1" Michelini joined Team Secret in the offseason. Roberto Lima "Sad" de Souza and Olímpio "nxghtt" Torres round out the roster.

Team Falcons

MENA

Team Falcons looked a little more mortal this split after losing in the first fall regional final. However, they won the next two regionals to secure their spot as MENA’s representative in Rotterdam. The Saudi Arabian trio of Ahmad "Ahmad" Abdullah, Khalid "oKhaliD" Qasim and Mohammed "trk511" Alotaibi will be looking to follow up on the success of their breakout 2021-22 season.

James Cheese

APAC

The unsigned roster known as James Cheese made it look easy in the fall. They didn’t lose any matches en route to winning all three APAC regional events. In fact, James Cheese were so dominant they only lost seven games across 21 matches. James Cheese features an international roster of players who have competed in three different regions in the past. Irish player Nelson "virtuoso" Lasko used to play in Europe; Japanese player Shogo "ReaLize" Ikeyama has been playing in APAC, notably with Tokyo Verdy last season; and New Zealander Cameron "Kamii" Ingram had been playing in Oceania throughout his career. The team is coached by former Renegades coach Lachlan "LBP" Parker.
