All the new jerseys for LCS teams in 2022

by Brian Bencomo

The League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) returns this weekend with the Lock In tournament kicking off the 2022 season. A new season means new jerseys being revealed. In most cases, the new jerseys also will be worn by the org’s other teams, not just their League of Legends team. Not all the LCS teams have revealed new jerseys, but here’s a rundown and breakdown of the orgs who will be donning fresh threads.

100 Thieves

100 Thieves continue to be one of the most fashion-forward orgs. They made a splash when they joined the LCS wearing jerseys that looked like pinstriped baseball uniforms, and they seem to hit it out of the park with their designs every year. In a video message published on Twitter on Friday, founder and CEO Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag spoke about the new jerseys and said “we have always been trying to push the limits of how esports is perceived.” They’re showing off another unique look with their 2022 jerseys, which are designed to look like rugby jerseys and are reminiscent of vintage collegiate sweaters.

The black long-sleeve jerseys have a white polo-shirt-like collar. “100 Thieves” is written in all caps in white across the middle of the jersey, with a thin red stripe running horizontally above and below the wordmark. The “100T” logo is in white on the upper left chest of the sweater, and also includes a small white star above it. It’s a nod to the team’s LCS championship last year and a small detail that’s frequently seen on soccer jerseys to indicate championships. This small detail is a reason why this jersey probably won’t be worn by the org’s other teams.

Cloud9

Cloud9’s new jerseys are fairly similar to their 2021 kit, with a few subtle new details. The jerseys come in either white or black with a small Cloud9 logo in either white or black on the upper left part of the chest. What makes these jerseys unique is the subtle patterning based on a topographic outline of the Los Angeles coastline. With the org based in LA, it’s a little nod to their home. The jerseys also are the org’s first to be made entirely with recycled materials. These jerseys will definitely be worn by several of Cloud9’s teams, not just their League of Legends squad because the promotional video also features VALORANT player Son "xeta" Seon-ho.

Evil Geniuses

EG’s 2022 jerseys are a departure from last year’s minimalist navy blue and white design. This year’s jersey is primarily navy blue but with a light blue patterning on the front of the jersey based on the team’s logo. The patterning is prominent at the top of the jersey but fades toward the bottom. In addition to the EG logo in white on the upper left portion of the jersey, the Wolverhampton Wolves logo is on the upper right side. Wolverhampton is an English soccer team that the org partnered with last year. In addition to the Wolves logo, the jersey collar is yellow to complement the soccer club’s yellow logo. EG’s “Live Evil” slogan is also depicted on the bottom left of the jersey. It’s likely these jerseys will be worn by all the orgs teams and players.

FlyQuest

For the past couple years, FlyQuest have been debuting new jerseys a couple times of year in conjunction with the spring and summer LCS seasons. Not only was the team donning new jerseys each season, but the design was tied to the team’s initiative that split. When FlyQuest was trying to raise awareness for protecting the oceans, their jerseys took on a nautical theme with a coral reef design on one jersey and jellyfish on another version. When the org was trying to save bees, there was a honeycomb pattern and bees on the jersey.

This spring, the “Sakura” jerseys are a light pink color with cherry blossoms throughout. Cherry blossoms surround and fall from the team’s logo on the upper left chest and cherry blossoms on tree branches are depicted at the bottom portion of the jersey. No word on a new initiative this spring, but several of the org’s previous initiatives have been tied to the environment, and this jersey certainly ties in with that larger theme. The description on the team’s merchandise site indicates the jersey was “inspired by the renewed life of Spring” and connects to the org’s initiatives to #ShowcaseGreatness and #GoGreen. The description also says the jersey is made with 25% recycled materials.

Immortals

Immortals have decided to really embrace their new home region, the Great Lakes. They partnered with Ohio-based insurance company Progressive and put “Progressive” on the chest of their 2022 jerseys. They also put a cool-looking design that’s reminiscent of the Northern Lights on the front bottom portion of the jersey. Immortals’ main color is already teal, and so the mainly teal Northern Lights design looks very natural on the jersey. The Northern Lights are more common further north, but they have been seen in parts of Minnesota and Michigan, so it’s a nice nod to their new home region. It’s likely these jerseys will be worn by all the org’s teams and players.

None of the other five teams in the LCS (Team Liquid, TSM, Dignitas, Counter Logic Gaming and Golden Guardians) have announced new jerseys for 2022, but it’s likely we’ll see fresh threads for some if not all of these teams in the coming weeks and months.
